I have two Siberian mothers and these little boys are out of Gemma, my best mother. These sweet, assertive, Siberian boys love to play with toys, and chase with Gemma and sister. They are adorable as you can tell from their pictures. (Shots and neuter have been completed) Mama?s Big Boy is a brown tabby and Mama?s B & W Boy is technically a Brown/Black Tabby with White. However, you can only see the black and white as the brown is subdued. So when I say he?s a Brown Tabby with White, I am corrected by everyone.
The father and Gemma had extensive pre-breeding medical panel: blood, urine, stool). Father had ultra sound (heart), DNA testing, and is PKD1 Negative. Both are from lines that have precautionary testing. They were checked by their respective veterinarians and were determined to be in excellent health. Both parents are about as close to perfect Siberians as you can get. In Gemma's only show she took 5 out of 6 finals. She has never even had a cold in her 4 years of age.
You will get in the mail the TICA Registration Paper when you name your kitten. Kittens come with their Shot Record, Spay/Neuter Record, Instruction sheet on caring for your kitten, and Initial supplies, including food the kitten is use to.
Information About Breeding Cats:
There are not many people that breed Siberians in Los Angeles as it is very expensive and hard work to breed cats in general. Cat breeders in the TICA and CFA organizations are very serious about the quality of care and are animal rights enthusiasts. I have purchased a number of cats ($2,000 each) and have had to turn around and neuter/spay them for one reason or another. My first breeding pair was not good enough, and people at the shows came and asked me to neuter them, "Please do not breed these animals!" because they were poor types of the breed. My third kitten grew up (1+ years invested) and sacrificed herself (saving her food for her kittens) and lost weight. I had to force feed her for two months. So I spayed and placed her with her kittens for $100. Gemma, out of 5 cats, cost me $10,000 to buy 1 cat of show/breeder quality. My 6th kitten, whom I was so in love with, Stormy, a dilute calico who cuddled, purred, loved me, was sickly. I thought she had allergies so I placed her at the ocean ($100 for spay). Now it turns out the food I've used exclusively (Royal Canin) gets their rice gluten from China. It is laced with melamine (plastic dishes) which was making my other kittens throw up. So it is probable that I spayed and placed Stormy, because of the melamine in the food, not allergies.
I've spent over $30,000 and have only had 3 litters to sell. This is actually the story of most cat breeders. One well known Siberian breeder who has been doing this for 20 years, went bankrupt. Serious cat breeders are not like puppy-/kitty- mills. The cats get ultra sounds, blood, urine, stool panels and DNA and PKD1 testing.
Pricing Siberian kittens from California to New York, I am priced in the lower range. Please check for yourself. But whatever Cat Breeders charge, please realize, a kitten costs $400 before it goes out the door. Pre-breeding costs, raw meat diet (all year, ongoing for the cats in the home), goats milk during weaning, best dry food, toys, veterinarian bills (spay/neuter, shots), pheromone plug-ins, flea/worm maintenance products (best from Canada/Australia), etc.
You only breed a Siberian once a year, starting at age 1 1/2, and they are retired by 6 1/2 (at the latest). One breeder used her mega-champion girl twice for breeding then spayed her. It is expensive and a lot of work. So you may gasp at what the price of kittens are across the nation, but the breeder is only trying to keep from
